End of 2008

Garage ceiling
Dining room and bedroom

Living room ceiling

Wow I can hardly believe that 2008 is over. This year has been another crazy year. The addition of building a house has added much stress and excitement to our lives. After 3 and 1/2 months, we are over half way done and hope to be in it early spring. We do not have an official target day. We figure, if we don't have a date, it is less stressful. Damon has all the ceilings sheetrocked!! Yeah! We are now waiting on the insulation man who should be here next Monday. The holiday season slows all production down. People seem to think they need a break or something!!! Damon has even got a little bit of rest!! We are excited for what 2009 brings. Thanks for follow are blog. (even if a post so infrequently!!!)

Slow but sure!!

I do not have any updated pictures to post but we continue to make progress, slow but sure. We had our electrical inspection and it went well. We can now start sheet rocking. The weather has not been very kind. Most of the days last week, the highs were below 0. Got to love Montana weather. Damon continued to work but it made it more difficult!! Hopefully soon we can get the insulation in and then we can have heat. Yeah!!

There is life on Primo!!

Garage doors!
Partial Front Door!

Front door Again! (from the inside)

Lots wiring and the heater!!

My deepest apologies for not posting in a few weeks but there has been lots of activity at Primo. The garage doors are in. Yeah!! Now we can lock up at night. Also all the wiring has been pulled!! Yeah!!! A BIG thanks goes out to my dad for all his hard work. Our front door frame and side window is in but the main door is coming next week. All the rough-in plumbing is done also. Damon plans on finishing up the plumbing himself. So there is lots of work to be done there. The heating contractor has been there. The heater is in the basement and Damon has cut all the vent holes. Once we get the lid sheetrocked we can insulate!! Our kitchen cabinet have been chosen and are on order. We have also been shopping for flooring and bathroom cabinets. If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE feel free to comment. Some of the flooring has been more difficult than anticipated but I am sure it will work out in the end:> Optimism goes a long way. We have also put a for sale sign out in front of the house on Grand. We are going to try and sell it ourselves. If we don't get much interest within the next couple of months then we will try a real estate agent. Not the best time to try and sell a house, with Christmas and all, but you have to start sometime. Blake said we don't have to sell the house. We could just take the sign down!! Hopefully, we will get some interest in the house!! If you know anyone who wants a cute little house in Butte send them our way!! As you can see lots of activity HAS been happening at Primo!!

A big thanks to my uncle Randy, who helped with the window sizes. We also got some plumbing done today. My dad has continued to plug away on the electrical. Boy is that a big job. Hope you enjoy our new pictures.

The window are here! The windows are here!

Moving along.

Dad wiring and view of the front of the house.

Front entrance.

Back door in the garage.

Door out of garage to back yard!!

The days continue to go by and Damon continues to plug away. All this work and stress has finally caught up with us all. This week Damon, Blake, Taylor and myself all ended up in the doctor's office. We all are slowly mending!!! We have continued to get bids on things to come. My dad (thank goodness for dads) has begun wiring. The plumber will be there today. Damon has been able to get the house wrapped, some doors in, a concrete pad poured for the dog kennel, concrete poured for the deck, and many more misc. things done. Now don't panic when you see our current front door. It is just temporary. Our main door is still almost a month out. So we put something in, so when the windows arrive, we can lock it up! We have also started talking carpet and flooring but have not made any final choices yet. Also today we are meeting with our cabinet guy!! Can't wait to see his ideas. Got to run. More to come!!

Roof is done!!!

Hooray, Hooray, the roof is done!!! As you can see the roof is completed!! We are so happy the roof is completed. The weather hasn't been super but it has cooperated enough to allow us to get the shingles on the roof. So let it snow (if it wants). Damon is now working on some framing and we are waiting for the windows. Unfortunately the windows are another two weeks out. So we will be working on other things until then. If any of you are coming through stop by and see our progress!!

Things have continued to move on at Primo. Sorry I haven't posted lately. I apologize again because I do not have pictures to post today however I wanted to updated everyone on the progress. Damon has been able to dry in all the sheeting in the roof and he has about 75% of the shingles on. We have also been getting bids on heating systems, researching appliances and flooring. So if any one has any suggestions on any of the above, don't hesitate to email me. I hope to post updated pictures sometime this week!!!!!

House has a roof!!

The last few days have been productive. Damon was able to get the house roof sheeted and dried in with paper. It came not a minute (or day) too soon. Today's weather is very rainy and tomorrow we are forecasted to have snow!! The garage roof may have to wait a few days. Hopefully we will get a few more good weeks to get the house completely enclosed!!

The trusses have arrived!!! Hurray!!! Damon, Brent (Kautzman), and Dad were very productive. They were able to get all the trusses up today and some sheeting too. So we now have a roof!!! More to come tomorrow.

Decrease production

Garage steps
Front porch and stairs

Stamped front porch!!

As many of you have noticed, I haven't posted in over a week. Well, we finally hit our first snag. The trusses we hoped to arrive last week still are not here. Hopefully they all will be delivered tomorrow. At least that is what we are being told at this point. I will believe it when I see it!! If they do arrive, Damon should be able to start putting them up Thurday!! So in the mean time, Damon has been finishing some small things. He was able to pour the stoop or front porch(as I call it). They dyed the concrete and stamped it with a pattern. That is one of the pictures above. He was able to get the steps in garage done. (Also one of the pictures above.) He built a removable ramp for these stairs, so his dad will be able to get into the new house. It is pretty cool. He has also started to do some of the framing in the basement for our family room and office. Hopefully I will have more posts in the upcoming days!!

End of 6 weeks!!

Garage sheeted!!
Back of house and eventually the back yard.

More of the back yard.

Well, the weekend has ended and we having been building now for 6 weeks. We definitely have come a long way. Everyone that stops to see the progress can not believe how far we've come. All the credit goes to my lovely husband. He has been working his you-know-what off. This weekend we did a lot of little things. We finished the sheeting on the garage, cleaned out the basement, cleaned up around the house, and got some of the dirt work done. Hopefully this week the trusses will come!! Keep your fingers crossed!!

And More Walls!!!!!!!

We now have all the outside walls up!! Yeah. It is so hard to believe how far we have come in such a short amount of time. Many thanks go out to my dad for all the long hours of work he has given us on this house, ALREADY. (And he thought he was just wiring the house!!!) Today Damon and my dad got all the garage walls up. Wow what a big job for one day. It turned out great!! We are definitely moving right along!! Bye for now.

It is all starting to come together. Today, for the first time since breaking ground, I had a wave of excitement. I have been trying not to get to excited to fast because I know it is going to be a long process but today it started to all come together!! I guess we will see what tomorrow brings!! Bye for now!!!
